I think this is a beautiful quote which came to me at the exact time I needed it (as things always do.) I realized that all the confusion and doubt I was previously feeling and dubbed “growing pains” could also be looked at from the perspective where I was able to better accept the change and process as a gift. I am going through a change. I am not who I once was and as part of that I have to be able to release what no longer serves. All that I viewed as confusion or a struggle was simply love bringing everything up that no longer belonged to me. I feel light again. 🙂

For the conscious/spiritual developing bookworm :D
I love to read!!!! For me, reading expands and grows me, it validates things I may second guess in my own thoughts and it’s just overall something I have enjoyed since I was a child 🙂
If reading is your thing I’d highly recommend the following books:
Although I already mentioned it Ask and It Is Given by Abraham-Hicks (Jerry and Esther Hicks) literally busted my mind open. It started me on this amazing journey that is getting to know myself and God first hand
A Course in Miracles by The Foundation for Inner Peace. I’m still working through this one. I’ve found that in my specific path I don’t feel the need to read it cover to cover, I do however enjoy the lessons it teaches (you are supposed to study one lesson each day) and the teaching manual
The Finding of the Third Eye by Vera Stanley Adler. This I found amazing because it was originally published in 1938 but is very much so applicable and relevant to today. As a result of reading this book I was skyrocketed in a million different directions!! It lead me to read The Egyptian Book of the Dead as well as The Tibetian Book of the Dead, The Teachings of Ptahhotep, The twelve labours of Hercules. and a very insightful article on Pelmanism which all helped in my expansion 🙂
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Another book that gave me growth and made me just that much better. The subtitle of the book is “A practical guide to personal freedom” It’s not lying lol
Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality by John Magnus. This one all I can really say is once you begin to really expand you may find you want to get your feet wet in all the cool abilities of your mind. It’s a book about out of body experiences, learning how to have them and what to do when you do.
A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. This I read with one of my best friends because we have a “book club” it came at the perfect time for me and I was able to take just what I needed at that moment.
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. I am definitely enjoying this read. Although technically it’s a fictional story it doesn’t take away from the very real spiritual/consciousness development stages.
As for the following books, they may on the surface seem to be only for entertainment at which point you may discard the value they may have on one’s spiritual development but one thing I have learned is insight can be found in all things and all people. In The Teachings of Ptahhotep, he states “Good speech is more hidden than greenstone (emeralds), yet it may be found among maids at the grindstones.” What I took from that was never discount someone’s ability to impart valuable wisdom to you based on their appearance or standings. God moves and speaks through all of us which includes those we categorize as people who create things on a superficial level (i.e. for entertainment purposes)
THe Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Susanne Collins
Divergent , Insurgent and Allegiant by Veronia Roth
Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of the Harry Potter Books!!!! Those books are about Love!!!!! It’s really beautiful when you are able to actually see it 🙂

and when you’re tired of reading there’s always writing your own books!!! I’d totally recommend journaling as part of your spiritual development. It’s actually how this blog ever even started!! 😉
Have a great day my lovelies!!
Meditation
There’s so much that can and should be said about meditation. In my intro I said mediation is life. I stand by that 100%. Meditation is essentially your direct line to your higher self (also know as God in whichever form you choose to call it *the note here being don’t get caught up on the semantics of the name as much as the meaning of the connection you are forming*)
The first and most important thing one should know about meditation is this….YOU CANNOT DO IT WRONG!!!!!!
I feel that some people tend to think meditation requires you to sit in a room with your legs crossed, and your thumb and index fingers chanting waiting for some profound moment to come. Not all meditations will lead you to some great epiphany. Take the pressure off of yourself and know no matter how your meditation comes out it was PERFECT. Sometimes you won’t be able to quiet the rambling as quickly as you can on other days, sometimes you’ll fall asleep and sometimes you’ll complete it knowing you were able to connect with your higher self. All of these things are 100% perfect because you are exactly where you need to be in the present moment. Meditation takes practice, it’s no different than if you wanted to build your bicep, you wouldn’t lift a 20lb weight one time and then get mad you aren’t super buff would you?
As a recommendation *keeping in mind it’s different for everyone* I always say find some soothing music of your preference (youtube has tons of meditation music) and simply find a space where you can get comfortable and quiet. You can sit up, you can lay down, whatever it is that will help you get settled into the moment is the goal, then you simply listen to the music. I find taking a couple of slow deep breaths helps me settle in then I begin to follow the musical notes.
As you begin to get comfortable with this you’ll notice that there are gaps in time where you aren’t hearing any of your every day mind rambling, and THAT’S your goal. It’s not a crime to have thoughts during mediation your goal is just not to carry full conversations during that time. You’re not looking for absolute silence you’re looking for temporary moments of quiet in order for you to actually HEAR what I call clear thought. Sometimes it will initially seem as if these thoughts are random but if you keep yourself attuned within the day things will appear in your life to make some of these things clear.
As an example during meditation one morning I ended up on a tangent about the Jewish custom of sitting Shiva. I could not tell you why of all things that was on my mind. It progressed into a thought about a Jewish man I knew *mostly because I couldn’t imagine him not clean shaved* which then progressed into how he’s such a great and sweet person. At the moment I determined this was not a CLEAR THOUGHT but everyday rambling and so I cleared it from my mind. When I went into work that morning I found out that same man was going to be having surgery within a few weeks as a result of having double hernia’s. My thoughts lead me to him for a reason it just wasn’t clear why until after the fact. Those thoughts of love directed towards him were called to the front of my mind on purpose.
So to conclude I’d just like to reiterate 1. you cannot do it wrong 2.you can have thoughts just try not to hold conversations (remember you’re learning to make the distinction between mindless rambling and CLEAR thought and 3. the more you do it the more natural it becomes.
Good luck and happy travels 😀
