Personal Freedom

I just started The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard and although I am early in the book it’s already had some resonance for me; Specifically the point that we all have an inherent desire to be whomever we are without fear of being judged or ostracized.  These same sentiments are expressed in the Outkast song above Liberation.

“Can’t worry bout, what another nigga think–Now that’s Liberation and baby I want it..  “–Outkast

“I said I have a choice to be who you wants to be–It’s left uppa to me, and my momma n’em told me”–Outkast

“That is ultimately what Personal Freedom is: liberty from the restrictions of social oppression and the tragic self-oppression that is fear”–Brendon Burchard

Each of us, every individual, ought to have the right to happily and peacefully move our lives forward without fear or hurt or imprisonment or arbitrary social constraints.“–Brendon Burchard.

Once again the personal realization of the fact that there are so many ways to say the exact same thing only causes the resonance to amplify more as a personal truth.  I am a true believer that there is more than one way up this spiritual mountain so whichever road we all choose is not nearly as important as the fact that we ascend. 🙂

For me personally I have been playing and growing into the idea of personal freedom a lot.  It has definitely become detrimental to my spiritual development because I am getting acquainted with who I really am and guess what…..I like her!!!  Although I don’t like getting caught up in labeling things for the sake of understanding I have realized I’m a hippie!! l love all things that, stereotypical speaking, hippies love!!!  Nature, meditation, yoga,  connecting with people on a spiritual level and of course my own spiritual exploration and development!! .  This is the me that I did not know I was as a teen and young adult because my primary focus was to fit in.

I can now say that I am liberated.

I don’t care if people think I’m weird, or use the word hippie to mean something negative.  I am who I am.  I am a individual and unique expression of the divine and I am going to use this expression as boldly and freely as I please.  This is exactly why everyone is flipping their lids about Caityln Jenner!!!! She is unapologetic about who she is and people don’t know how to handle it (which is the saddest part in my opinion, truth be told it would be impossible for me to care any less about the subject because all I can see is the bigger picture of letting someone do what they feel they have to do to be happy.)

You should never feel you have to justify yourself  or apologize for being the authentic version of you.  It’s really that simple.

You may find that people will be removed from your life as a result of the change of your personal perspective of self but it should never be viewed as a loss.  The more you are true to yourself the more the right people be drawn to you anyway!!!   I wish this experience for us all,  I have slowly but surely broken the mental and social chains that cause me to be someone I am not and I hope that you all find such liberation in a way that is comfortable to you individually.

Much much much love ❤

Soul relationships–soulmates, siblings and twin flames.

I write about this topic not because I understand it but rather I WANT to understand it. I believe we all have soulmates and that it can be more than one person.  The term soulmate tends to lean towards a romantic connection but I view it as something broader. For the sake of labeling I tend to call “non-romantic” connections my spirit friends or soul siblings .  It’s a connection that surpasses words where something in me will be lit up by something in someone else (and vice versa) They happen so frequently for me now that I am able to have this sort of connection with someone I just meet as easily as I connect with my long time best friends.  I’m grateful for the synchronicity that lines up these wonderful interactions for me constantly but that’s neither here nor there in the scheme of this conversation lol.

What I’m interested in is learning about is twin flames and romantic soulmates.  As far as soulmates go something in you is connected to something in that other person and you KNOW it.  There’s an underlying feeling of harmony and balance between the two of you where even your differences compliment each other (true yin and yang.) Twin flames I feel like I understand less, I’ve searched the internet but what I’ve found on the subject leaves me a bit lacking.  The way that it’s explained overall is a single soul that is split into two halves so in meeting your twin flame you are meeting the other half of your own soul.  I kind of have difficulty with that in the sense that we’re ultimately one consciousness, and we are all whole within ourselves so how could it be that this person is the other part of your soul?  If a twin flame is what I think it is (which I’m not sure it is) you KNOW it intuitively but it’s more than the intuitive knowing of the other type of spiritual connections(soulmates/siblings/spirit friends).

In The Truth by India Arie she states “There aint no substitute for the truth, either it is or it isn’t…. and you know the truth by the way it feels…”

by the way it feels…”

That feel is what I’m thinking it is. There really is no need to even try to define it because the feeling is the knowing, that’s just it.

In my experience the best I can come to describing what I believe a twin flame is, is this: you can think about that person and KNOW they are thinking about you at that exact same moment, it’s a connection so strong that you don’t even need words to have a conversation. It’s an ease connected to the timelessness of our souls where you don’t feel the need to rush or try to make something happen right now or even in this physical body experience at all because you know your unique soul will meet up with that unique soul again.

If that’s what a twin flame is I think I get it but if it’s anything else maybe I’ve just yet to experience it.   Any insight on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Lesson 7–A course in Miracles

I see only the past.”

When I first read this lesson how I interpreted it was that our past experiences give us reference to the present moment so when you are looking at something you aren’t just looking at that specific thing you are looking at the culmination of all interactions you’ve ever had with that thing.

“I see only the past in this shoe” (etc…)

When you look at a shoe you are able to recognize it for what it is based on experience.  This experience is also known as the past. As the example if you had no reference point to what a shoe was you’d not know the meaning of the word let alone the function of it. I often think of babies as a great example of this, if you give a baby a shoe they may play with it, put it in their mouth but not think to put it on their little foot.

This lesson came back to me today in relation to my efforts to work on staying present. (Stay with me because this is going to seem random initially but it really illustrates the point of this lesson to me) I was putting some shea butter in my hair so I look at the jar then proceed to think about how I used it on my hair before vacation.  This thought turned into thinking about how vacation was so amazing and all the things that took place.  I had left the present  so easily looking at this object because I was looking at it in terms of the past!!!

I managed to bring myself back into the present and when I did the deeper understanding of this lesson came with me.

I love when thing tie in on that spiritual level. 😀 There are so many ways for us to say things but ultimately we are all saying the same thing.

Acceptance of the present

image

The resonance this had for me!??!

If we were able to truly accept the present moment as if we had specifically chosen it (which realistically/vibrationally we do) we would be offering absolutely no resistance!!!!!

When you are offering no resistance to the present your vibration raises, and of course with a high vibration everything you want begins to easily flow to you!!!!!! For me this statement truly gave me an understanding of the question “how do I get from ‘here’ to ‘there'”

There is no there! There’s only here and when you’re at peace with HERE you get out of your way to let “there” come to you effortlessly.

To say it’s a beautiful realization doesn’t even fully capture it ❤

The Power of Now and Pain Bodies

I’ve really been enjoying The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.  As previously discussed this book brings to light how much of my time I have habitually spent outside of the present. It is something that comes so “naturally” to us that we don’t even realize that we do it.  We cannot change something that has happened in the past nor can we determine exactly how the events of our future will unfold, yet we spend so much of our time in those places!?

After this realization I’ve started to look at it as a fun sort of activity where I try to catch myself mentally wandering, it’s always refreshing to come back to “here” when I do.

“Here” is actually pretty awesome 🙂

The other spiritual expansion I have had with relation to this book is learning about what Eckhart refers to as Pain Bodies, here is his explanation of it.

In the book he states “This accumulated pain is a negative energy field that occupies your body and mind.  If you look on it as an invisible entity in its own right, you are getting quite close to the truth”  To me, it was like he was finding another way to describe what some would view as the devil.  It made so much sense on both levels because essentially they are both saying this is something that is not truly OF YOU.

It is not of you because you are of God. 🙂

All negative emotions and pretty much anything you would consider of low vibration are not of the goodness you are truly made of.  As part of our decision to work on spiritual development/growth we have to be able to recognize these negative aspects to transmute getting “carried away” by them.  We also have to understand they are not a part of our true character nor nature.

We are not negative beings.  It’s a BEAUTIFUL THING actually.

He directs us further by saying “Watch out for any sign of unhappiness in yourself, in whatever form–it may be an awakening pain-body.  This can take form of irritation, impatience, a somber mood, a desire to hurt, anger, rage, depression, a need to have some drama in your relationship and so on.  Catch it the moment it awakens from it’s dormant state.”

I promise you when you are able to catch it before it even gets going it begins to amaze you how quickly you are able to dissolve something with the potential to emotionally exhaust you!!! (I can’t even tell you how much this has helped with me avoiding getting into arguments or becoming impatient when waiting on a long line.)

And so…Thank you Eckhart Tolle for expanding my soul just that much more 😀

It’s your voice, use it!

use your voice

What I can honestly say that I appreciate about so many social media platforms is it gives us all an equal opportunity to be heard.  The phrase “opinions are like assholes, everyone’s got one” is indeed true lol.

Say what you need to say knowing that not everyone will necessarily agree with you but maybe it’s the exact thing that someone else needed to hear right now!!  Learn to respect opinions you may not agree with, every opinion is equally valid.  You are personally entitle to accept or reject whatever you wish, the beauty of freedom of choice 🙂

Love to all!!

Art Therapy

I’ve been playing a lot more with being present and so I’ve been looking for ways to increase the amount of “time” in which I am HERE.   If you ever watch a little kid coloring you can’t help but notice how intensely they concentrate, they give their total attention and focus to the task.  With that small inspiration I decided I wanted to use coloring as part of my meditation.

I got a really cool Mandala coloring book on Amazon and have been enjoying it

Be Here!

Currently I’m reading Eckhart Tolle The Power of Now.  If there’s one thing this book has showed me so far it is the amount of time I was spending outside of the present by preoccupying my mind with thoughts of the past or thoughts of the future. No matter which you are doing you still are doing it in the present so for times you drift try to pull yourself back. Be here!! It’s really the only place you can be anyway 😀

be here

Welcome back 😉
